Custom Figure Series 2: Godzilla Terrestris

Godzilla Terrestris is an interesting take on Godzilla. Coming from the 2021 Netflix anime Godzilla: Singular Point, he takes on a more primal dinosaur-esque appearance before evolving into his final form. For an upcoming project I got to work on making Terrestris.

His articulation was the most difficult to work with as I transition from using barbell style joints to an articulated plastic armature.

These joints are quite difficult to work with because you need special pliers to separate them individually.

The pieces are small, and although I lost several, the final product was worth it in the end.

The range of movement is unparalleled, as he can move anywhere I place him, and the joints are strong. He doesn’t slump or sag when I animate him. He is perfect in more ways than one.

I firmly categorize Terrestris as a puppet rather than a figure due to his use of an actual armature, which distinguishes him from the other customs. Nevertheless, he can still be seen as either
